This vintage of 30,000 bottles strikes great balance and, like all the wines in the venerated Casa d'Ambra portfolio, it rewards you with a beautiful sense of place. Who needs a passport when you can make yourself a plate of seafood spaghetti, with garden-grown basil, and travel to the sun-drenched Mediterranean coast of Ischia along the surface of this glass.

The 2017 Ischia Bianco is a blend of 40% Biancolella and 60% Forastera grapes from the heavenly island of Ischia off the Campania coast. This wine offers the creamy structure and stone fruit flavors of the first grape (Biancolella) against the tonic sharpness and crispness of Forastera. That winning combination awards the nose with plenty of aromatic and mineral intensity. You get creamy suppleness in the mouth. I am a huge fan of this absolutely singular Italian white wine. Some 30,000 bottles were released.
