Licorice and anise spices to the black cherries and plums. Juicy and ripe on the palate with a medium body and a flavorful, medium-length finish. Firm and nicely chewy. Drink in 2024.

This is an immediate and cheerful red wine made with 95% Sangiovese and tiny parts Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera and Colorino in complementary roles. The 2019 Chianti Classico shows a lot of balsam character with cherry cola, dried rosemary and eucalyptus oil. These medicinal aromas add to the vertical lift of the wine and the general freshness, with plenty of purple fruit and plum at its core. There are hints of almond-like bitterness and the tannins are firm. This is a production of exactly 18,032 bottles.

The Castello di Cacchiano 2015 Chianti Classico shows a bit of extra bottle evolution and age. From a warm and sunny vintage, the wine is balanced and fresh with lots of red cherry and cassis. Indeed, there is plenty of extra succulence and richness here to pair with roast chicken with potatoes and garlic. You can't go wrong with a classic, versatile and well-priced wine such as this.

The 2013 Chianti Classico is born in the cool climate Gaiole in Chianti subzone of the appellation. This is a crisp and delineated red wine with a mid-weight approach. The bouquet is very distinct with savory tones of leather, tobacco and gardening soil. Those heavier, more autumnal aromas come on the heels of dark fruit, plum and Morello cherry. You also get a hint of oak spice and toast. The blend is 95% Sangiovese with smaller parts Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera and Colorino. Some 28,000 bottles were made.
