From hillside vineyards in another section of Priorat, called Porrera, the 2013 Marge is a blend of 50% Grenache, 20% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Carignan and 5% Syrah aged eight months in a combination of French and American oak. The year 2013 was considered a great vintage in Priorat, which is not the case in many other areas of Spain and France. This wine, the 2013 Marge, has stunning richness, a deep ruby/purple color, loads of blueberry, black raspberry and black cherry fruit, crushed rock, and again, a floral notes that are so obvious in many Priorats. The dense, ruby/purple colored wine offers up plenty of intensity and richness and should drink well for another 4-6 years.
