The 2008 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Colline Teramane Castellum Vetus opens to a blackish, impenetrable appearance with thick layers of dark berry, resin, spice, tobacco and cured meat. The wine is rich, fleshy and extracted. Pretty mineral tones add sharp contours to the edges. This is a bold, full-bodied red with tons of power and depth.
