The wines of this estate, which has an impressive strategic position near Belair on the village of St.-Emilion's hillsides, are made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The wine comes from grapes grown on a small 15-acre vineyard, and tends to be elegant, with moderate flavor extraction and an up-front, forward appeal. The 1994 displays good rather than exceptional color saturation, light to medium body, fine ripeness, a touch of dilution, and spicy, moderately hard tannin in the finish. It requires several years of cellaring and should keep well for 10-15.
