The samples of 2012 De Veyres appeared very closed on the nose, despite rigorous coaxing. The palate is balanced but is missing fruit concentration on the middle and back end. There is freshness here, but it needs to develop more substance in barrel.

The 2011 de Veyres has a light, hazelnut-scented bouquet with notes of dried honey and white peach, emerging after three of four minutes. The palate demonstrates good weight on the entry with notes of dried honey, spice and mandarin. It seems to have less residual sugar on its well-balanced, focused, viscous finish and represents decent, uncomplicated Sauternes from mid-term drinking. Drink 2013-2019.
