Not as impressive as Galoupet’s white or rose, this blend of Syrah (60%), Grenache (20%) and Mourvedre (20%) shows a strong earthy, minerally component garnished with bits of cedar and spice. There’s some plummy fruit carried by soft tannins and moderate palate weight, but the earthy notes are dominant, ending on hints of game.——J.C.(7/1/2008)—— 85
