The chalkiness of the wine’s minerality struts forth aggressively, as do copious quantities of black currant and blueberry fruit. The wine hits the palate with serious authority, medium to full body, and plenty of richness and suppleness. Drink it over the next 10-12 years, although I think it could last even longer.
This 2010 is a major sleeper of the vintage from this outstanding estate of 25 acres, which has produced another terrific wine. Thirty percent new oak was used during upbringing, and the final blend is 80% Merlot and the rest equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
