The 2009 Touriga Nacional “Adega de Pegoes” was aged for 6 months in a mixture of French and American oak. With just a little power on the finish, this well balanced wine is quite charming and very tasty, yet with some intensity and seriousness as well. Although it opens a bit creamy, with the oaky note fairly obvious, that does recede with air. As it aired out, it became far more interesting, although it will never strike anyone as the most complex wine around. It does feel mouth coating and mouth filling, with a little bit of a punch on the finish. Drink now-2018. Importer: Aidil Wines & Liquors, a division of Olde World Imports, Inc., Rahway, NJ; tel.
