The 2011 Jaspi Maragda is a blend of 55% Garnacha, 25% Cari?ena and 20% Syrah matured in a mixture of new and used, French and American oak barrels for one year. It shows some cooked flavors, very ripe black plums and plenty of spices with some creamy hints. The palate shows abundant, grainy, slightly harsh tannins and a bitter finish. 24,000 bottles produced.

The 2010 Jaspi Maragda is a blend of 55% Garnacha, 25% Carinena and 20% Syrah, and even though part of the wine has aged in terracotta amphorae, it comes through as quite oaky, with aromas of vanilla, nutmeg, clove and toasted bread over a core of balsamic notes intermixed with ripe black fruit. The medium-bodied palate reveals abundant dusty, grainy tannins, correct acidity and pungent flavors with a slightly drying finish. 18,000 bottles were produced. Drink 2015-2018. This is the project of brothers Toni and Miquel Coca i Fito from a winegrowing family from Penedes. Toni Coca is a known oenologist who advises some 25 different wineries in the region. The 2009 Jaspi Maragda is a blend of 45% Garnacha, 25% Carinena, 25% Syrah and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Falset Valley aged in American and French oak for 12 months. It has a crisp, floral bouquet with blackberry and blueberry aromas that carry the vanilla-y French oak with aplomb. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy, saturated tannins. There is real weight and density to this wine, with just about enough acidity to keep the balance fresh, though there is a vegetal tincture that jars on the chewy finish.
