The 2009 Gewurtztraminer gives intense tropical fruit and rose petal aromas with some pear drops and a slight lemon lift. Full bodied and medium-dry (12.5 grams per liter of residual sugar), it has a medium level of acid and a little phenolic grip in the long, spicy finish. The 2008 Gewurztraminer offers intense notes of tropical fruits, lychees and pink guava, over aromas of rose petals and frangipani. There’s notable sweetness on the palate giving a dry style with medium-high acid to balance and a good concentration of spicy / perfumed flavors, finishing long. This is a very pretty Gewürztraminer from Crossroads. A delicate, very well-poised nose with notes of apple-blossom, apricot, lemon zest and a touch of granite. Nice minerally component in the background. The palate is well-balanced, very good acidity lending the wine vibrancy and poise, yet this is a reserved style of Gewürztraminer with a lovely floral, almost Mosel-like finish. Just superb. Tasted February 2008.
