Made with Grillo planted in the Tenuta Monte Pietroso located in the hills of Monreale (at 400 meters above sea level), the Cusumano 2021 Sicilia Grillo Shamaris is brilliant and lean in appearance. With five months in stainless steel, the wine offers medium texture with slightly viscous flavors of peach, quince and poached pear. Production is 40,000 bottles.

Closed with a glass cork, the Cusumano 2019 Sicilia Grillo Shamaris sources its fruit from the Tenuta Monte Pietroso. The bouquet of this wine is very pure and clean, with varietal tones of exotic fruit, peach and cut grass. Made only in stainless steel, the wine promises to be a simple and fresh companion to fried fish or cod sticks.

With fruit from Cusumano's Tenuta Monte Pietroso property, the unoaked 2018 Sicilia Grillo Shamaris (with 40,000 bottles made) offers exactly what you should expect of this grape, complete with the freshness and the citrus crispness. However, this expression shows more depth and volume than most of its peers. The bouquet is round and nicely contoured with some poached pear, spice and grilled herb.

This is a hot-vintage expression of the normally tangy and zesty Grillo grape. The 2017 Sicilia Grillo Shamaris (closed with a glass cork) has a broad and generous disposition. Fruit comes from the landlocked Palermo area that is not an obvious habitat for Grillo. Trapani in the southern part of the island is better suited to the grape, thanks to the sea influences, soils, diurnal shifts and winds. This wine offers tart lemon zest and dried grass. There is a touch of peachy sweetness on the close. Some 36,000 bottles were made.
