The 2007 was not showing well when I tasted it, but the 2008 Sijnn Red Blend is fresh and vibrant on the nose with blackberry, roasted herbs and a touch of white fennel. The palate is fleshy and ripe with good definition, leading to a fleshy, succulent finish of red cherry and wild strawberry. Drink now-2018. Sijnn is a new project from an old ostrich and grain farm located at the mouth of the Breede River. The plantings tend towards Mediterranean (Syrah, Mourvedre, Touriga Nacional, Chenin Blanc and Viognier amongst others.) The fruit is presently vinified at De Trafford in Stellenbosch, though there are plans to construct a local winery.Importer: Boutique Wine Collection. PO Box 7436, Philadelphia. PA 1901.
