The 2006 Seleccion Personal Carlos Moro is a selection of the best vines in the Pago de las Costanas vineyard. Unfortunately, 2006 was not nearly the vintage of 2004 and this offering displays a reticent bouquet, less density, and not enough fruit to cover the wine's structure. It is a pleasant enough wine that does not remotely justify its price tag. Drink it up over the next few years while it retains its fruit. Bodega Valdelosfrailes is part of Carlos Moro's Matarromera group of wineries. Valdelosfrailes is located in the overlooked, but excellent, DO of Cigales, not far from Ribera del Duero.
