The 2011 Gran Clot dels Oms is a barrel-fermented Xarello from old vines aged in 400-liter oak barrels for five months in contact with the lees. The nose blends notes from the wood, smoke, balsam and vanilla with ripe yellow and white fruit, spicy fennel aromas and a light to medium-bodied palate still marked by the aging in wood, with good persistence and a slightly drying finish. It should get polished with some time in the bottle. Drink now-2016.
