The 2009 Knights-Errant is pure old-vine Garnacha Tintorera aged in French barrels for 18 months as they believe it's a wine that can develop in bottle. Unfortunately all I got was notes from the oak, spices, smoke and toast, and the fruit is drying out while some harsh tannins remain and dry up your mouth. Drink up with some powerful food. 8,000 bottles were filled in January 2013.

The "reserva" wine is the 2008 Knights-Errant, a pure Garnacha Tintorera aged in French barrels for 16 months. As you might expect the nose is dominated by the oak in a 1990s fashion showing smoke, bacon, cloves, pepper, vanilla and cinnamon wafting around a core of ripe black fruit and notes of peat and graphite. The palate adds oak tannins giving the fruit a powdery sensation with slightly bitter flavors coming mostly from the wood. 12,000 bottles.
