Simple and bright, the 2013 Sannio Taburno Piedirosso shows distant adehldic or oxidative signs with notes of apple skin, pressed rose petal, blackberry and dried Indian spice. This is the first time I tasted Piedirosso from this organic producer and I expected more. The wine’s acidity is very evident (2013 was a cooler vintage in these parts) and those crisp berry overtones make for a lasting signature.
