This is one of the larger-production wines from Michele Laluce, who rolls out about 30,000 bottles of it every year. In contrast to the estate's Le Drude reserve, which sees two years in oak, the 2013 Aglianico del Vulture Zimberno is aged 70% in steel only. There is good balance here with spice, licorice and old tobacco, along with dark smoke and tar. Pair it with grilled sausage and peppers.
