Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2012 O’Riada Shiraz is beautifully perfumed with lavender, garrigue and wild thyme notes with an undercurrent of red cherries, black raspberries, black peppercorns and dusty earth. Medium-bodied with a great intensity of spicy red berry flavors plus a pleasant herbal lift, it has a low to medium level of rounded tannins and lively acid supporting the fruit nicely and taking it to a long finish. Medium garnet-purple in color, the 2011 O’Riada Shiraz offers an intoxicatingly peppery nose with underlying nuances of warm red cherries, red currants and smoky bacon. Light to medium-bodied, very fine and elegant in the mouth, the delicate flesh is nicely poised with a low to medium level of silt-like tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing with lingering pepper hints. The 2010 O’Riada Shiraz, which includes 5% Viognier in the blend, yields a medium garnet-purple color and is intensely scented of warm red currants, black currants and black cherries with hints of Mediterranean herbs, freshly cracked black pepper and moss covered tree bark. Medium-bodied, it has a medium to firm level of finely grained tannins and crisp acidity supporting the pretty, bramble fruit flavors, finishing long with a slight dried herb lift.
