The 2019 Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Riserva Brenntal offers a mid-weight approach with creamy aromas of candied lemon, almond, jasmine and orange blossom or Sicilian zagara. These aromas are quite expansive and baroque in character and are followed by a silky, honey-like mouthfeel. The alcohol content is getting up there at 15.5%, and the wine shows a shiny golden color with hints of green. Production is 14,000 bottles.

The 2018 Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Riserva Brenntal opens to a luminous golden color and a very fragrant and floral bouquet. The nose is redolent of honey, soapy jasmine, lemon blossom and ripe papaya. These aromas are rich and even sticky in places, thus adding to the broad, full-bodied presentation made by this wine. Some 10,000 bottles were produced.

The 2017 Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Riserva Brenntal is a beautifully fragrant and floral expression, as you would expect of this grape, with honeysuckle, jasmine and lemon blossom. Those aromas just explode from the confines of the bottle. The wine ages on the lees for 12 months in steel and then goes into large oak casks for six months. Some 18,000 bottles were made.

The Cortaccia subzone is especially regarded for the high quality of its Gewürztraminer grapes. The 2016 Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Riserva Brenntal (with three months in large oak casks and an additional 14 months in stainless steel vats on the fine lees) is a cornerstone wine. This beautifully expressive white opens to white rose, honey, summer peach and sweet almond paste. This wine is part of the Terroir line of products. The alcohol is high in this vintage (recorded at 15%), but the overall integration is seamless. Some 14,000 bottles were produced.

The 2015 Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Riserva Brenntal is a perfumed white wine with pretty aromas of honey, jasmine and candied fruit. This wine is dry, roughly speaking, with 15% alcohol. Besides the ample power on display, you also get some soft and succulent fruity flavors that remind you of the summer heat. All considered, it does not shy back in terms of alcohol nor residual sugar, and these are characteristics of the 2015 vintage.
