This 2022 Down to Earth Sauvignon Blanc leads with a grassy, slightly weedy nose, but it fills the palate with the typically concentrated fruit that we have come to expect from this producer. Handpicked from the Crayeres Vineyard in Wrattonbully, it was fermented in tank, then moved to large French foudre and demi-muid (25%) at low temperature. Following that, it was aged on lees in both tank and oak for seven months prior to blending and bottling. This has a reedy quality to it, structural and firm. It's long through the finish and decidedly savory. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
