This substantial, mouthfilling, robust, muscular Spanish red exhibits a dense purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of scorched earth, coffee, black fruits, and pepper. Heady, with surprisingly good acidity, and a dry, tannic finish, it is mouth-staining material that sells for a song. While it does not reveal much finesse, it is filled with flavor intensity.
