The 2018 Alto Adige Lagrein pours from the bottle with inky dark intensity. This is a brawny and thickly concentrated wine that offers more dark fruit power and succulence than it does structure or tannins per se. But there is nice freshness here and also a lot of thick fiber that makes this wine great for sweet lamb korma with yogurt sauce. Some 60,000 bottles were produced.

The 2017 Alto Adige Lagrein is a vinous and slightly raw red wine with dark berry fruit followed by plum and blackberry preserves. This is a study in the Lagrein grape and the primary fruit intensity it offers so willingly and naturally. This grape shows true and genuine characteristics with lots of black fruit in terms of flavor, especially in this vintage. This wine was fermented in stainless steel and aged very briefly in oak. Some 60,000 bottles were made.

Dark in concentration and super thick in density, the 2016 Alto Adige Lagrein is a brooding and inky-black expression. The bouquet reveals pressed rose petal with prune, plum and dried blackberry. The mouthfeel is succulent and soft without being openly sweet, although there is a lot a ripe fruit in terms of its flavor profile. The finish is succulent and almost syrupy.
