A barrel aged blend of 40% Syrah, 30% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache and 10% Carignan, the 2012 Collioure Cyrcee is a fair step back from the blockbuster 2010 and offers a touch of over ripeness in its iodine, dried herb, meaty and ripe personality. It lacks a touch of freshness, yet is still a solid, medium-bodied, character-filled wine to drink over the coming 3-4 years.

Offering up a ripe, chewy, rustic style in its mulled black fruits, chocolate and leather aromas and flavors, the 2011 Collioure Cyrcee (55% Mourvèdre and 45% Syrah) has loads of fruit and texture, but also dry tannin. I suspect it's best drunk up. It certainly doesn't show any Collioure typicity either.

An awesome Collioure, the 2010 Collioure Cyrcée is a modern-styled, sexy and downright decadently styled effort that gives up lots of ripeness in its iodine, blood, salty minerality and sweet black raspberry fruit. A blend of 45% Syrah, 30% Mourvèdre and the rest Grenache, aged in 100% new oak, it won’t be loved by traditionalist, but is one superb drink!
