The largest production cuvée is the 2015 Saint Joseph L'Instinct, 100% Syrah that will see 14 months in mostly neutral barrels. It sports a deep purple color as well as killer notes of smoked herbs, black fruits, charred herbs and licorice, with a hint of tar. It might lack a touch of freshness, but it hits the palate with a big, rich, concentrated profile, ripe tannin and solid length. It will be interesting to see how this comes together in bottle, but it could certainly be an outstanding wine.
