I liked this wine prior to bottling, and Gerard Jacumin's 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape has turned out about as I expected. Gorgeous floral notes of violets and roses join hints of anise and lavender on the nose, all carried by ripe red raspberries and cherries. It's a hefty 50% Syrah, with the balance being 30% Mourvèdre and just 20% Grenache, all made and matured in tank for a relatively short time. Full-bodied, soft and plush on the mid-palate, it finishes gently tannic.
