The organic Calatia 2019 Pallagrello Nero Terra Antica (packaged in a heavy glass bottle) offers thickly extracted fruit with pressed blackberry, dried plum, sweet spice and barbecue smoke. I recognize that intense sweet-versus-savory approach in the other wines submitted from this producer. It's all a bit much. This is a production of 3,800 bottles.
