The purple-colored 2005 Millennium Tinto, a wine made only in the better vintages, is made up of 60% Garnacha, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, and the balance Monastrell and Pinot Noir. It was aged for 12 months in 50% new French oak. It presents a more complex and sophisticated perfume including notes of sandalwood, crushed stone, black truffle, spice box, violets, black cherry, and black currant. Medium to full-bodied in the mouth, it has excellent volume, succulent fruit, well-concealed tannin, and a lengthy, pure finish. Give it another 2-3 years of cellaring and drink it from 2012 to 2020.
