Graci’s 2010 Etna Bianco Quota 600 is Carricante and Catarratto blend aged partially in French oak tonneaux. The oak adds a measure of textural richness, but without detracting from the wine’s essential energy and minerality. A gorgeous, deep wine, the 2010 is bursting at the seams with class. In 2010, these white grapes were picked into October. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2016.
Alberto Graci’s wines are loaded with character and personality. In particular, the Etna Bianco and Rosso deliver superb quality for the money in a part of Italy where making value-priced wines is rendered virtually impossible by the high farming costs imposed by terrains that are hard to work. Graci bottles without fining or filtration, which means the wines can sometimes appear cloudy, but that is purely cosmetic and no need for concern.
