The I Favati 2017 Taurasi Terzotratto is seriously rich and super concentrated, almost to a fault. This hot-vintage expression feels sticky and ripe with sweet plum, candied blackberry and something that reminds me of a doughy blueberry muffin. The wine sits heavy on the palate, and you'd need to find a hearty meat dish or an aged cheese to pair with it. Those baked fruit aromas cede to spicy oak and Spanish cedar. Production is 10,000 bottles.
