The oak was much better integrated in the 2015 Les Sorts Blanc, a pure Garnacha Blanca with balsamic aromas of bay leaf and fennel, and a core of white fruit. The palate is fresh and lively, with some chalky minerality. 7,000 bottles produced.

The 2010 Les Sorts Blanc is also pure Garnacha Blanca fermented and aged in oak barrel for five months, but the wood is a lot more evident than in the Etnic Blanc, with plenty of dusty, oaky aromas of vanilla, smoke and just a hint of butter over some ripe yellow fruit. There is one white wine in the current collection, the 2009 Les Sorts Blanc made entirely from Garnacha Blanca. Aromas of mineral, candle wax, and melon inform the nose of a vibrant, flavorful wine with good depth and moderate length. Drink this well-balanced effort over the next 2-3 years. The 2009 Les Sorts Blanc is a pure Garnacha Blanca aged in 90% new French oak, the rest in acacia barrels. The creamy new oak dominates the nose, but it remains attractive, with apple blossom and peachy aromas. The palate is simple and primal, with grapefruit and bruised apple leading to a toffee-tinged finish. This is a simple, commercial Montsant white. Drink now.
