Aged in the cellars for two extra years before its release, the 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Lionello Marchesi boasts an extra savory and smoky side. The bouquet shows faded fruit and is driven by oak-related tones of exotic spice and campfire ash. However, the oak is never too strong, and ultimately, this Riserva shows good overall integration. It is tight and lean in the mouth with a point of bright acidity on the polished finish. Some 10,000 bottles were made.
