The straightforward and approachable red 2021 Montecastrillo was produced with Tempranillo and 10% other varieties from their property and fermented with 50% uncrushed grapes. It's young and juicy, with 14.5% alcohol, and it matured in barrel for four months. It has an expressive nose and is aromatic and creamy, with black rather than red fruit, juicy and tasty. 140,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2022.

Tasted along with the 2021 vintage, the 2020 Montecastrillo is a wine from a cooler year, and it has less alcohol (13.8%) and a much fresher profile. This is more vibrant, lighter and fine-boned, with fine tannins and a velvety mouthfeel, polished by the time in bottle. It is very pleasant and easy to drink. It's evolving very slowly; it should continue evolving nicely in bottle for a few more years. Honest, tasty and very good value. 150,000 bottles produced.

The harmonious and approachable red 2019 Montecastrillo was produced with (organic and biodynamic) Tempranillo with some 10% other varieties from their property and matured in barrel for four months. It's soft and easy to drink, clean and balanced and with good ripeness and elegance. Very good for the price. 120,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2020.

The pleasant and fruit-driven red 2018 Montecastrillo is mostly Tempranillo with some Garnacha and Cabernet Sauvignon. It aged in oak barrel for 18 months and has a clean nose and a fresh and lightish palate with straightforward flavors.
