85% Shiraz, 15% Cabernet Sauvingon. Aged 10-12 months in oak. 95% American oak (45% new). Very deep garnet-purple colour. Spicy nose, warm blackberry and pronounced vanilla aromas with a faint whiff of volatile acidity. On the palate the oak stands out a little though there is generally a good concentration of fruit and a medium+ level of fine, ripe tannins to support this. Long spicy finish. Tasted September 2009.
