I suspect that Lachaux considers his 2020 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots superior to his Romanée-Saint-Vivant, and while I tend to disagree, there is no denying the quality of this hillside premier cru overlooking La Romanée and Romanée-Conti, where the domaine's vines are goblet-pruned and trained on individual stakes. Bursting with scents of raspberries, rose petals, smoked tea, orange zest and exotic spices, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, with tangy acids that animate a beautifully vibrant, ethereal palate, concluding with a long, saline, rose-inflected finish.
