Assembled from numerous parcels, principally sandy, in and nearby the estate’s home village of Galluches, the Petit 2008 Bourgueil Les Galluches is impeccably balanced, concentrated yet refreshing and buoyant. This is a lovely introduction to the virtues of Loire Cabernet Franc that should be employed often over the next 12-18 months. His influential uncle and leading authority in their appellation Jean Gambier having retired, James Petit’s name is now that featured on his domaine’s labels, with “La Petite Mairie” relegated to small print as part of the estate’s address.Importer: Rosenthal Wine Merchant, Pine Plains, NY; tel.
