The 2016 Gevrey Chambertin Village includes 50% whole bunch fruit from five parcels. This had a lot of reduction on the nose that was difficult to read at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins, a mixture of black and red fruit tinged with oyster shell, with fine tension on the slightly sinewy finish. This is a gutsy Gevrey that deserves a year in bottle.

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is a blend of five different vineyards including La Justice and Evocelles. There is a slight stalkiness on the nose that I strongly suspect will be assimilated by the time of bottling. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, merging into more black fruit towards the saline finish. I like the focus here, the spiciness on the aftertaste, and it might well give drinking pleasure over the next decade. Very fine.

Cherry, currant and spice flavors are the hallmarks of this dense red. A mineral note adds interest as this builds to a long, sinewy finish. Echoes fruit and spice details on the long aftertaste.
