The 2012 Chablis comes from Malandes’ 16 hectares of vines and sees no wood contact. It has a rather taciturn nose with light tertiary aromas: a little broody and introspective at the moment. The palate is better with lemon zest and orange peel on the entry, a keen line of acidity, although the finish feels just a little shorter than I would have liked. Drink now.
Lyne Marchive founded Domaine des Malandes back in 1972, courtesy of vineyards from her father Andre Tremblay. Since 2006, oenologist Guenole Breteaudeau has been in charge of the winemaking. This was a consistent set of wines, many of which I would gladly receive on my table.
