The 2016 Corton-Perrières Grand Cru has a crisp, well-defined bouquet with blackberry and crushed strawberry, mixed with wet limestone and loamy scents that gather momentum in the glass. The palate is not quite as structured as other vintages that I have tasted, more approachable in style without compromising on depth and fruit intensity. I appreciate the spiciness, almost pepperiness that lingers on the aftertaste. Excellent.

The 2015 Corton-Perrières Grand Cru has a cheeky hint of Valrona chocolate on the nose, very subtle, with plenty of spicy black fruit tinged with clove emerging soon after. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a little rustic and coarse at the moment, but showing good mineralité towards the finish. The 35% new oak oak needs to be subsumed and so it needs a couple of years to soak that up, but there is still good potential here.

The 2014 Corton Perrières Grand Cru has a very endearing bouquet with mulberry, red plum and undergrowth scents that are nicely defined. I love the floral nature of this wine. The palate is well balanced, symmetrical, edgy and tensil, and it fans out wonderfully on the lightly spiced finish. This is a very composed Corton Perrières -- superb.

The 2013 Corton-Perrières Grand Cru has a vivacious blackcurrant and red plum-scented bouquet that is nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, good depth with grainy, stony and slightly austere finish. This is a decent Corton despite it not quite matching up to the Clos du Roi '13.
