Offering a saturated, dark-ruby color and a wonderful nose of black fruits, and coffee beans, this estate's Chambertin is a super-expansive, rich, mouth-coating, and gorgeously layered wine with enormous depth of fruit. Waves of ripe red and black cherries are intermingled with earth and toasty oak flavors in this well-made, scrumptious wine. Its long finish reveals soft tannins. Ironically, if Belland were based in Gevrey-Chambertin, not Santenay, this wine would sell for considerably more. Projected maturity: 2002-2008.(formerly Domaine Adrien Belland)
