Domaine La Monardiere

This estate has been one of Vacqueyras's star performers for several years. Chris?tian and Martine Vache, now joined by son Damien, together turn out well-balanced wines with unmistakable personality plus that particular combination of finesse and power that is typical of southern grapes. The grapes are sourced from two terroirs, one with clay-sandy soils, the other planted in clay and limestone. The wines are tradi-tionally vinifled in concrete tanks, then matured in tanks, barrels, or tuns depend?ing on the cuvee. Les Deux Monardes and the Vieilles Vignes regularly win acclaim for their textbook Vacqueyras style.
