Domaine Lamy-Pillot often turns out white Chassagnes that offer strong character at prices that remain reasonable for such pristine terroirs (it also houses a corkscrew collection that is well worth the visit). The estate made a better job of the 2005s than many of its neighbors: the Les Caillerets and Chassagne Premier Cru are as warmly recommended as the 2004 editions. The estate's small Blagny bottling (red like almost all Blagnys, and not submitted for tasting) can sornetlrnes rival its whites!
