Fleshy and charming, the 2019 Fixin Village offers up aromas of cherries, cassis and plums. Medium to full-bodied, melting and fruit-driven, it's generous and expressive.

Revealing aromas of raspberries, spices and coniferous forest floor, the 2017 Fixin Village is medium-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with an open-knit, succulent core, melting tannins and a nicely defined finish. This isn't the most concentrated of Mongeard-Mugneret's 2017s, but it's giving, expressive and pleasure-bent.

The 2016 Fixin Village has turned out well, offering up aromas of sweet red berries and potpourri, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and charming palate framed by juicy acids and powdery tannins. It's an attractive, comparatively open-knit rendition of Fixin that will offer plenty of near-term pleasure.

The 2014 Fixin Village, from 40-year-old vines and matured in around 10% new wood, has a light, crisp red cherry scented bouquet. Simple...but effective. The palate is crisp on the entry, pleasing weight in the mouth, though I found it a little austere towards the finish. Drink over the next 2-3 years.
