Pierre Morey, the celebrated winemaker for Domaine Leflaive, shows the same respect for soil and environment in his own holding. The great white wines he makes here testify to the same masterful style. Their slightly reduced nose when young needs five to fifteen years' bottle aging to express the full force of the terroir. The reds exhibit more polished tannins and aromatic finesse than before, with a par-ticularly excellent Grands Epenots. Pro-duction these days is boosted by a small range of neqociant wines, sold under the Morey Blanc label, that, from the simplest to the most stunning, are similar in style to the domaine wines.
