Rich and fleshy, the 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Village offers up exuberant aromas of ripe peaches, pear, pastry cream, wheat toast and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, ripe and ample, it's powerful and heady, in a style reminiscent of the domaine's 2015.

Ramonet's 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Village is showing nicely, offering up delicate aromas of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers and blanched almonds, followed by a medium-bodied, elegantly satiny palate that's fine-boned and lively, with succulent acids and a pretty core of fruit. While it's already open and charming, I suspect it will put on a bit of weight with a few years' bottle age.

Ramonet's 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Village has opened up a little since I tasted it earlier this year, offering up notes of pastry cream, crisp green orchard fruit, citrus oil, vanilla pod and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and nicely concentrated, with sappy acids and a fleshy core. This is a charming but nicely defined Chassagne that will offer a broad drinking window.
