From the Plan de Dieu region of the southern Rhone (this is the flat, sea of vines located between Vacqueyras and Cairanne), the 2014 C?tes du Rh?ne La Bouveau is an interesting blend of 80% Syrah, 15% Cinsault and 5% Viognier that raised all in concrete tanks. Medium-bodied, fruit-forward and with juicy acidity, it offers rock solid notes of peppery herbs, blackberries and violets. While 2014 was a difficult year in the Rhone Valley, this is well worth checking out, and while I wasn’t able to get the release price, it should be a solid value.
