In the wrong hands these low-yielding grapes might have been mishandled, but Dry Creek Vineyard knows Zinfandel. The result is superb, spectacular, the essence of old vine Sonoma. The Beeson Ranch vines, from the western side of Dry Creek, are 100 or more years old. The flavors are very different from the Somers Ranch Zin, instead offering mint and fresh strawberries layered over a base of chocolate.
