I tasted a bottle of the third and last bottling of the 2013 La Tribu, a blend of equal parts of Monastrell, Garnacha and Syrah from vines planted in the year 2000, fermented separately and matured for four months in French oak barriques. It has a fruit bomb-profile that is dark and opaque with a nose of cassis concentrate, tar, chestnuts menthol and blueberries. It is really showy and captivating. The palate is medium-bodied, with marked, ripe flavors and moderate acidity that ends slightly warm. Again, it is a better nose (where it could be mistaken by a Rh?ne wine) than palate. Is it the young vines? 100,000 bottles in total. Awesome value.
