The Ettore Germano 2014 Langhe Nebbiolo is made with fruit from a new vineyard in Vignarionda in Serralunga d'Alba. The wine was made as if it were a Barolo but released as a Langhe Nebbiolo instead. Compared to the other Langhe Nebbiolos released this year, you clearly get a different performance here, thanks to the evolved and relaxed quality of the fruit. Young Nebbiolo can be very nervous, but this wine is smooth and ironed out. In fact, this wine offers many of the smoky and savory qualities you get in full-fledged Barolo from the same 2014 vintage. Only 2,000 bottles were made.
