The 2002 Dicatum is one of the best all-Sangiovese wines made in Tuscany in the 2002 vintage, very expansive in its expression of red currants and wild cherries, Mediterranean brush, licorice, and tar. Medium-bodied but with firm and classy tannins to underpin the structure, it needs only a bit more flesh and weight to reach excellence, something which was not in the cards in 2002 but is destined to arrive in future vintages.
